  • Lou Vogel was an enthusiastic collaborator from the beginning. We always expressed our common inspiration through improvisational performance. McBurgen family studios produced several EP length records, including my own project In Response which was the first Lou lent his diverse talents to. He introduced me to the Sruti box which set the tone as the intro to the first track and provided arranged horn harmonies for the title track’s climactic Bridge. Lou provided improvised, sometimes dissonant layers of fiddle tracks for a surreal seasick intro to the concept album Weakened and Broken We Make For Shore by Eva Collective. He went on to collaborate as a Collective member for The Waking Sea and playing live original and cover music as a full-fledged member of the McBurgen family under many monikers including Lou and the Neighbor Kids. Lou has kept me in touch with the joy of playing other people’s compositions and he will bring his full set of skills and artistry to your project.
